Napa Valley Travel

When planning Napa Valley travel, you should understand the key areas that make up the majority of Napa Valley. Calistoga, St. Helena, Oakville/Rutherford, Yountville, and Napa are towns that offer winery tours, pleasant accommodations, and other activities that tourists can add to their Napa Valley travel itinerary. As Napa Valley is well known for its wine, adults will find plenty to do, but children may not be quite as thrilled.

Calistoga became popular in the early 1800?s when settlers discovered the amazing restorative properties of the area?s natural hot springs. From that day forward, tourists arranging their Napa Valley Travel itinerary, and who are seeking a little rest and relaxation, have flocked to Calistoga. Harbin Hot Springs is a non-profit organization that offers relaxing Napa Valley travel choices. At Harbin Hot Springs, guests can relax in any of the resort?s natural springs, attend artistic workshops, or stroll the 1700 acres of impressive landscape.

Located in St. Helena, Beringer Vineyards is California?s oldest winery in full operation. Founded in 1876, Beringer offers daily tours and wine tastings for a very affordable price. The vineyard is packed with lush landscaping and historic buildings. St. Helena is also a haven for antique shoppers. The area?s extravagant Meadowood golf course will appeal to the avid golfer. Couples needing a mix of activities on their Napa Valley travel itinerary will enjoy St. Helena.

Any movie buff knows the name Francis Ford Coppola. Formerly known as the Niebaum-Coppola Vineyards, Rubicon Estate in Oakville/Rutherford continues to produce top-notch wines. Rubicon Estate offers special estates throughout the year. The St. Helena Olive Oil Company is another ?must see? on many Napa Valley travel itineraries. Olive oil and balsamic vinegar are both produced daily and can be sampled in the retail section of the company.

Yountville, California is no more than one mile in length. Tourists love adding Yountville to their Napa Valley travel plans because the town can be seen by foot. Park your car, put on some comfortable shoes, and see the sites. Amazing architecture is only one of the rewards. France?s Moet and Chandon sister company, Domaine Chandon, is located in Yountville. Daily tours of the winery that specializes in sparkling wines are free. While a trip into the tasting room lets you enjoy a few samples.

In Napa, La Belle ?poque remains a highly requested bed and breakfast. Romantics of all ages book rooms at this gorgeous Queen Anne Victorian months in advance. The Wineries of Napa Valley is a unique organization that offers samplings from many of Napa Valley?s wine makers. The Wineries of Napa Valley sells a wine tasting card that allows ten-cent initial samplings from each winery in the establishment.

Whether you are arranging a romantic Napa Valley travel plan or wanting to explore the world of winemaking, Napa Valley is a lavish option. Though the area can be a little on the pricey side, Napa Valley travel plans create a lasting memory.

Personalized Wine Bottle

Personalized wine bottle

On my wedding day, my husband and I received many unique and creative gifts. We also received some gifts that left us wondering what in the world people were thinking. Most of our guests were more than generous with things that they gave to us, leaving me confident that we had a wonderful support system. A family friend purchased six assorted flavors of wines for us and a lovely countertop wine rack as well. She had made certain that each one was a personalized wine bottle, each with varying words. Though each bottle had different engravings on them, they each contained our names and wedding date. I was absolutely thrilled. To be honest, that gift meant more to us than most of the other gifts did.

Each personalized wine bottle was engraved, much more impressive than a sticker that can be damaged or fade. The engravings made the bottles appear so elegant and fancy that I hated to even open them. However, once we did open them, we made sure to save each and every personalized wine bottle. After the wine was gone, the personalized wine bottles were turned into vases and decorations. There was no way that I could part with a single one of them. In fact, we went to Hawaii for our honeymoon and brought home sand from the beautiful beaches. Once home, that sand was preserved in one of the personalized wine bottles for us to cherish for years to come.

Most wine stores can help you to create a personalized wine bottle if you purchase through them. Despite what you may think, having a personalize wine bottle made is not very expensive. Add a few dollars onto the price of the wine purchase and you?re usually set. Having engravings done instead of sticker labels may cost a few dollars more than that, but it is definitely worthwhile. Of course, you don?t have to limit yourself to only giving a personalized wine bottle, or two, for weddings ? they can be for any occasion. You can even propose to your loved one on a wine bottle. I?ve gotten my parents a personalized wine bottle for their 35th wedding anniversary, and they loved it.

There are so many everyday gifts that you can give to others. So many of those gifts are ordinary and while appreciated, simply not unique. Getting someone a bottle of wine that is personalized for the occasion is anything but ordinary ? it is unique and personal. People tend to not forget those things. Besides, you might rank a bit higher on their gift buying list next time around!

Wine Of The Month Clubs

If you are a serious connoisseur of wine, I can hardly recommend something that you will love more than a wine of the month club. Many of the greatest fans of wine have not even heard of wine of the month clubs ? I know that I had not heard of them until recently. Therefore, let me tell you how it works. International wine of the month clubs like the one that we belong to, deliver you a different wine or two every month. They come from all over the world, as the name implies, and runt the spectrum of wines. You may get a Chablis one month, a Chardonnay another month, and a Retsina from Greece the third. Blushes and Ports are also popular choices.

Most wine of the month clubs offer you a selection of all different types of wine from all over the world, but this is not really that great an option for some people. I know many folks, for example, who only like white wines and hate reds. Other people, by contrast, only like reds but can not stand whites. If you fit into either of these categories, fear not! Many international wine of the month clubs feature a special option where you can select the types of wines that you will be getting and the types that you will not. They even allow you to chose special regions if you are more partial to, say, the wines of Southern France than those of Northern Italy.

Of course, wine of the month clubs are really only for the very delicate palette. The taste comes at a pretty penny, so if your main concern is with quantity, and quality comes second, or if you drink on a very limited budget, then wine of the month clubs might not be for you. But me personally, I only have about a glass or two a day, and so my wine of the month club, combined with the stock in my extensive wine cellar, furnishes more than enough to keep me satisfied all year long with its delicious beverages. If you are like me, then you should join one of the many fine international wine of the month clubs as well. You will sure be glad you did, I have no doubt in my mind. I know that I have been absolutely thrilled with almost the entire selection I have received.

Christmas Gift For Couple

If you want to save a little cash around the holidays, you can do some things to keep your list a little smaller. When it comes to friends and distant relatives, you might want to consider gifts that are made for more than one person. That means you don?t have to buy a separate gift for each member of the household. You can find gifts for the family if you know a larger family and you just can?t find it within your budget to buy for all of them, and you can also buy a Christmas gift for couple rather than getting two separate things.

When it comes to buying for couples, you might find things to be easier than you thought. While each person in a couple is an individual, couples always have some common interests. What one person needs might not be something the other likes, but there has to be something they do together, or that drew them together in the first place. If you can figure out what those things are, you are well on your way to buying the perfect Christmas gift for couple. Remember to keep it simple or you might go out of your mind trying to choose.

If you don?t know a couple very well, or consider them to be casual friends, this is definitely the way to go. You can normally find some sort of food gift to give them that they will appreciate. Do they drink wine? If so, you can get them a bottle of their favorite, or a case if it is within your price range. If they enjoy pasta, you can get them a gift set with different pastas and sauces. Some like the traditional meat and cheese sets, and those can be a great gift as well. As long as you keep their style and their likes in mind, something is out there that will be perfect for them and perfect as a Christmas gift for couple.

You should also think about things that they need when thinking about a Christmas gift for couple. Did you go camping with them last year and notice they could use a larger tent? That might be the perfect gift. Did they decline a dinner invitation to their favorite restaurant because they can not afford to go very often? Get them a gift certificate. A gift will be good if it is something that they can use together. Don?t get something only one will like and put both names on it, but rather, take some time to think of what they love together and the ideas will come to you rather quickly.

White Zinfandel

White zinfandel is a favorite wine for many people because of its fruity nature and general appeal. The wine is referred to as ?white? and many people think that this is a mistake because of its pink hue. However, this is the correct term for the product. It is not really a blush because the process of making the final product is different in a white zinfandel than in a blush wine.

The zinfandel grape is actually red and it commonly produces a red wine as its final product. The makers of white zinfandel change the winemaking strategy a little bit in the process of creating the pink-colored favorite among mainstream wine drinkers. The skins of the grape hold the color. When the skins are left in during the fermentation process, the end result is a red-colored beverage.

The white zinfandel is pink in hue because the skins are left in the mixture for a short amount of time then they are removed. Removing the skins during the fermentation period results in a product that has a pink tone because only some the element that holds the color (the skins) are only present for a little bit of time. Once they are removed, the color is as well. Only a trace of the red grape is apparent in the final product.

This pink wine has become a favorite among the mainstream but many wine lovers in the know are a little turned off by the poor little white zinfandel. Many wines are of superior quality and taste but these wines also have to be acquired to suit the palate. Few people love their very first glass of fine wine. White zinfandel is a perfect bridge between the casual wine drinker and the well-versed wine enthusiast.

After the taste for a decent white zinfandel is acquired many suggest moving on to another drinkable wine. Riesling is my first choice because it is very pleasant and easy on the palate. It is not quite as sweet as a port wine or a white zinfandel but it provides a wonderful way to explore more complex wines.

Once you develop a taste for a good Riesling you may turn your nose up at the humble white zinfandel but this would be a mistake. There are many wonderful wines created through the unique process. In fact white merlot has emerged on to the market. Pink is a color for all seasons after all.

Unique Gift Baskets

Most people put a lot of effort into picking out birthday, Christmas, and other holiday presents, but I think that unexpected gifts are the best. After all, buying someone a present on their birthday ? no matter how great a present it is ? is simply a matter of fulfilling an obligation. They expect you to get them a gift. When you send someone a unique gift basket, a trinket, or even greeting card when it is unexpected, however, it can really do a lot to brighten up their day. I have been a fan of unique gift baskets for years, and I constantly surprise my friends with the things I give them.

The first time I ever sent a gift unexpectedly was when I was involved in a long-distance relationship. My girlfriend was a little bit depressed, and when I sent her gift basket flowers in the mail, she was absolutely overjoyed. Even knowing it was a small token of my affection, it made herself happy to receive it. It completely surprised her when she got home. She got to come home to a lovely bouquet of flowers, complete with a gift card.

Seeing how happy that present made her made me really think about the potential unique gift baskets have for lightening someone’s mood. About a week later, I was walking around town when I saw an old comic that one of my friends used to own. Although he had since lost it, when he was a kid it had been one of his favorite comics. I bought it, wrote a personal message, added a few action figures that he had always admired which I’d saved from my childhood, and sent it off to him. He absolutely loved it. If I had sent him, say, chocolates or a wine gift basket, it would have made him happy. When he got this particular unique gift basket, however, he was absolutely overjoyed.

I think one of the most important things when you’re buying presents for people is to give a personal touch. People really appreciate knowing that you are thinking of them. Sending someone flowers, gourmet foods, or expensive coffee is nice, but sending someone something that they never would have expected is even better. This is why unique gift baskets are such a great idea. They show someone not only that you thought of them enough to buy them a present, but also that you were already thinking of them when you stumbled upon the perfect gift by chance. Unique gift baskets are a great way to show you really care.

Napa Valley Wine Tours

It is well known that one of the must things to do when visiting or vacationing in Northern California is to go on Napa Valley wine tours. There are over 300 wineries in this region, and every one features some kind of wine-tasting event, wine appreciation class, or wine/grape-related activity. There are straight-up Napa Valley wine tours, wherein a group visits two or three (or more) wineries, tastes a number of varietals, and has a guided informational that covers everything from revealing the interesting history of the particular winery to introducing new wines to the guests on the tours. But then there are unique Napa Valley wine tours?including the vehicle the guests are driven in, the accompanying entertainment, and the bonus amenities at each winery stop.

One of the more classic (and classy) of the Napa Valley wine tours is the limousine tour: you choose a six- or eight-hour tour. You schedule a pick-up destination for your party. And you are chauffeured from the spot in a stretch limousine, taken along the gorgeous hills and into the valleys of the Napa/Sonoma areas while you start with complimentary champagne, visit four or five wineries, and get expert lessons and advice at a ?state-of-the-art? winemaking facility. Then, the limousine takes your party for a catered gourmet picnic lunch, also featured at one of the wineries?so you can enjoy the panorama of hills and vineyard colors, smells, and subtle nature sounds. I discovered by way of Beau Wine Tours that this is one fine way to sample, learn, and fall in love with the area.

One of the more unusual and at the same time more intense versions of Napa Valley wine tours is the blind wine tasting experience. This is not one wherein sighted folks are blindfolded but wherein visually impaired persons can still have the wine tasting and winery education: legally blind visitors are taken to the vineyard where they physically pick the grapes and get an opportunity to taste them, as well. Then, the group is offered a ?palette testing? session?with jelly beans. They sniff and taste and try to identify flavors. The tour includes, of course, a wine-tasting hour; the group is ushered to the wine cave where the people taste a selected wine.

And of the hundreds of Napa Valley wine tours offered, the most unique is the Napa Valley Wine Train tour: your party chooses a dining car?either the restored 1915-1917 Pullman Dining and Lounge car, the ?open-air railcar,? or the ?glass-topped? 1947 Pullman Vista Dome dining car. The seats are plush velvet; the sights are pure Northern California. Even my friends, who were born, raised, and who live here, take the train once or twice a year. Now that?s Napa Valley Wine tours at the top of the grade.

Food And Wine

Many people love a great meal and for some of us, a great meal requires more than a well prepared dish. Food and wine just go hand in hand. You can really turn a nice meal into something spectacular if you make the right pairings. All it takes is a little know-how and some simple general rules to follow.

The process of pairing food and wine isn?t as complex as some may believe. Don?t think that you have to be a vineyard snob to appreciate a great glass that offers the right bouquet and texture for your meal. When it comes to food and wine, the only real rule is that you consider what you truly like.

It?s all about flavor. Stronger flavors in foods require heartier wines to hold up to them. For example, you want to serve food and wine at your next gathering. Why not appeal to flavorful as well as light pallets? This way, you are certain to make a real splash in your presentation.

A classic dish that many of us can?t resist is lasagna. Pair this hearty classic with a hearty wine that offers a lot of rich taste as well as a velvety texture. I love to have a nice glass of Cabernet with any pasta dish that has a flavorful red sauce. This food and wine pairing is a winner every time.

Looking for something a little lighter? Maybe you might be in the mood for a grilled salmon with fresh dill. A great food and wine pairing is meaty seafood along with a nice crisp white. I love Riesling to pair with a dish like this but a Chardonnay that has a hint of apple in its flavor is a wonderful pairing for this lighter meal as well.

Don?t know which Chardonnays have fruity undertones? Don?t fret. You can find out just by looking at the descriptions on the bottle. You can also bet that a Chardonnay from Oregon will have a crisp hint of apple in its flavor. You can make nice food and wine pairings that work with the undertones in the drink.

Considering this, you don?t necessarily have to subject yourself to the food and wine rule: reds with red meats, whites with fish and poultry. If you prefer red wine even though you are having fish, then choose red. There are plenty of nice options to consider that have lighter, fruity undertones.

The bottom line: choose what you like. Wine and food work together well and they should be enjoyed. Sure, you can maximize the flavors by making the right pairings but if you find yourself stressing over your choices, you just need to take a step back. You can?t go wrong with good food and wine no matter how you match them.

Personalized Wedding Gifts

Attending a wedding as a guest can be a very fun experience. Sharing in the special magic of watching two people devote their lives to each other is touching.

When you are invited to join the happy couple to celebrate their special day you?ll want to pick out a present for them. Many people choose the convenience of a monetary gift or they visit the couple?s gift registry to pick something they?ve asked for.

If you want to make a lasting impression on the bride and groom than consider choosing one of the many personalized wedding gifts that are available. Personalized wedding gifts are a nice reflection of the commitment of the couple and they also make wonderful keepsakes.

There are many different types of personalized wedding gifts that you?ll want to consider. Each has its own unique charm and will appeal to many newlywed couples.

Some of the most touching personalized wedding gifts are those that incorporate the wedding invitation into the gift. This can be done in several ways.

One idea is to have the couple?s wedding invitation framed. You can choose to have some flowers pressed in with the invitation or perhaps a cherished photo of the couple.

Another inventive idea for the wedding invitation is to have its image placed onto a candle. There are specialty shops that can do this with some advance warning. You simply give a copy of the wedding invitation and they will place the text onto a candle.

These types of personalized wedding gifts, that utilize the invitation, will surprise and delight the bride and groom. They?ll be able to have a constant reminder of their first day as man and wife.

Bottles of wine can also be made into personalized wedding gifts. Several vineyards now offer their clientele the option of having a personalized label placed onto a bottle of wine. In the case of using this as a personalized wedding gift you can have a bottle made to celebrate the special day or you can choose to have one that will represent their first anniversary. Either of these two approaches is lovely and the wedding couple will be very appreciative of your thoughtfulness.

Stemware or dinnerware with the couple?s monograms also makes wonderful personalized wedding gifts. They can choose to use them at every special occasion they will celebrate in their new life together.

Personalized wedding gifts are a wonderful way to show the bride and the groom how special they are in your eyes. When it comes to choosing the gifts, consider their likes and dislikes and pick something you know will bring a smile to their faces.
